Arrived in Sri Lanka

I arrived in Colombo airport sunday at 15.00 local time, like 10.30 european time.

Suis arrivee a l'aeroport de Colombo dimanche a 15h heure locale, c'est a dire 10h30 heure europeenne.

Flight was ok, apart from a small icident involving a dead man lol. We were all just watching films or reading, when all of a sudden, this passenger in front of us caught my attention. His arm slowly dropped to the floor, then his head started falling, then he slowly fell down to the floor. It really looked scary, and I (and everyone around me) thought that he was dead or passed out at least. Then the steward can and lifted him up onto his seat again, and put his finger on the mans neack to see if there was a pulse. The man started to snore really high, and woke up looking all confused, and asked very angily: Why are you touching me??? I couldn't help laughing a little bit!!

Le vol c'est bien bien passe, apart un petit incident avec un mort :) Tout le monde etaient en train de regarder la tele ou lire, quand soudain, j'ai remarque un passager devant moi. Son bras commencait lentement a decendre vers le sol, puis sa tete, puis tout son corps est tombe. Ca avait l'air vraiment serieux, et je (ainsi que tout mon entourage) pensait qu'il etait mort ou au moins tombe dans les pommes. Le steward l'a remis sur son siege, et verifie son pouls. L'homme a commence a ronfle tres tres fort, puis il s'est reveille tout desoriente, en demandant: Pourquoi vous me touchez?? Je n'ai pas pu empecher un petit sourire!!

So I arrived to Colombo, after 15 long hours, tired and dirty, and jumped into the coordinator's car for a 4 hour drive. Luckily for me it was sunday, so less traffic than usual.

Je suis donc arrivee a Colombo, fatiguee et sale. Puis en route pour 4 heures vers Galle. Heureusement pour moi c'etait Dimanche, et il y avait pas beaucoup de monde sur la route.

The family is very nice, although I get the feeling that asian people (other volunteers say the same) sometimes are not all honest with you. They prefer telling something that is not true, than loosing face and getting embarrared about something. But I think I'll get used to it and learn to tell what is right and what is wrong.

La famille est tres sympa, bien que j'ai le sentiment que les asiatiques (d'autres volontaires disent la meme chose) ne sont pas toujours tres francs. Ils preferent mentir que de perdre face et se sentir incapable de repondre a une question. Mais je pense que bientot j'aurai l'habitude, et saurai quand ils disent la verite.

Today I went to visit a home for diabled children and adults, it was very interesting, they are all so happy to see you, some of then want to shake your hand 50 times, some dance for you and some just want to talk to you. It must be a great thing working with these people. Then I went to the dutch fort in town, that just has a breathtaking view.

Aujourd'hui j'ai visite un orphelinat pour les handicappes, c'etai tres interessant. Ils sont tous tres heureux de rencontrer des gens, et il y en a qui veulent te donner la main tous les deux minutes, pendant que d'autres dancent, et d'autres encore veulent juste parler. Ca doit etre super de travailler aec ces gens.

Apres j'ai visite le fort Hollandais. A partir des mus il y a une vue extraordinaire.

Je vais bientot mettre des photos, aujourd'hui j'ai juste oublie le cable.

All is well, I hope to give more exiting information (I know this was a little boring) when i sort out everything i see in my head, and can write clearly about it.

Tout va bien, j'espere pouvoir donner plus de nouvelles plus interessant bientot (je sais que pour l'instant ce n'est pas tres passionnant).
