Arrived in Kandy (http://www.explorelanka.com/places/hill/kandy.htm) today. Got up at around 5.30 because transport is really slow here. Met some nice people on the train, which by the way are ok if you can find a seat. People are selling food throughout the journey. Had to go back to Colombo, to change trains and then go to Kandy. After 2,5 hours in the second train I found out that it didn't go to Kandy afterall. Never trust what people tell you!!! So I got out in Gambola, and from there took a bus to Kandy.

Suis arrivee a Kandy (http://www.explorelanka.com/places/hill/kandy.htm) aujourd'hui. Il fallai se lever a 5h30 car les moyens de transport sont tres lents ici. J'ai rencontre des gens tres sympas dans le train. Les train sont pas si mal que ca, a condition de trouver une place libre. Il y a des gens que vendent de la nouriture pendant tout le voyage. Il fallait retourner a Colombo, pour changer de train vers Kandy. Apres 2h30 dans le deuxieme train, j'ai su qu'il n'aillait meme pas a Kandy. Ne jamais croire ce qu'ils disent!!! Je suis donc denscendue a Gambola, et a partir de la j'ai pris le bus.

I nearly forgot; yesterday I went to the Yala national Park with Natasha and Tom. Got up at 6 for a 4 hour ride. On the way we saw a turtle nesting home, which was quite awful. They keep adult turtles in tiny spaces just to show to tourists. I felt really bad for them! But at least the little turtles that just hatched are set free into the sea. we also stopped to see something called "blowholes". It is almost like a geyser, exept that it is the wawes hitting the rocks that make the water go up more than 10 meters. Arrived in Yala at 1 pm. The park was established in 1907, and is very beautiful. The trip lasted 3 hours, and we were very lucky, as we got to see ALL the animals. A leopard was even sleeping in a tree just above our heads! We also saw elephants, crocodiles, wild boar, birds, and loads of other animals.

J'avais presque oublie; hier je suis allee visite de parc national de Yala avec Natasha et Tom. On s'est leve a 6h pour 4 heures de route. Sur la route on a visite un endroit qui eleve les tortues. Je n'ai pas aime du tout! Ils gardent des tortues adultes dans des tout petits bassins, juste pour les montrer aux touristes. Au moins ils liberent les petites tortues qui sortent des oeufs... On s'est aussi arrete a un truc qui s'apelle "blow holes", un genre de geyser, sauf que ce sont les vagues de l'ocean qui font que l'eau est presse entre les rochers et monte a plus de 10 metres dans l'air. On est arrie a Yala vers 13h. Le parc a ete cree en 1907, et il est extremement beau. Le tour a dure 3 heures, et nous avons eu beaucoup de chance, car tous les animaux etaient la. Il y a avait meme un leopard qui dormait dans un arbre au dessus de nous! il y avait aussi des elephants, crocodiles, sangliers, oiseaux, et plein d'autres animaux.

So on the way to Kandy in the train, i met this man. He seemed ok, but just to be sure, I told him that I was married, to make things clear. Of course he still went on talking and talking. He asked me what the difference was between living with someone and being married (I knew he was referring to sex, as in Sri Lanka they are not allowed to have sex before they are married, but I pretended not to understand and talked about something else). He started talking about european girls, and all of a sudden he asked: I hear european girls are good for sex? I told him to bugger off and that I didn't want to talk to him any more! how rude! Apart from that incident the trip went fine and was quite enjoyable.

Donc dans le train en allant a Kandy, j'ai rencontre cet homme. Il avait l'air ok, mais juste pour etre sur, je lui ai dit que j'etais marie, juste pour metter les choses au clair. Bien sur il continuait a parler. Il m'a demande la difference entre vivre avec quelqu'un et etre marie (bien sur je savait qu'il parlait du sexe, au Sri Lanka il est interdit de faire l'amour avant le mariage, mais j'ai fait semblant de pas conprendre, et parler d'autre chose). Il a commence a parler des filles europeennes, et tout d'un coup il m'a demande: J'ai entendu dire que les europeennes sont bien pour faire l'amour? Je lui ai dit de partir et que je ne voulai plus lui parler. Mis apart cet incident le voyage s'est tres bien passe.
